Best of Beauty: Our April Favourites
Our obsession with everything hydrating will never cease to end, and last month saw the most intense moisture-boost we've ever experienced.| May 4, 2019
Is it May already? Almost half the year has whizzed by and with every new day, we discover a new love and addition to our ever-growing beauty cabinet. (Yes, it’s no longer just a drawer.)
Our skin struggled a little bit in April, but we are pinning the blame on our monthly hormones and a portion of it on the lack of self-control for our diets. On the table, our favourites are power-packed essentials that are extra effective. Think effective masks or potent serums that are anything but.
Fenty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder
We have searched far and wide for a powder that fits the bill – and we think we’ve struck gold with this one. If you think your current holy grail or cult-favourite is good, we’re willing to bet that this is better. The ultra-fine powder soaks up sebum for hours on end, melting into the skin without the terrifying effect of patchiness. Because of this, it gives your skin an ultra-smooth finish that will leave you hooked. We can’t use any other powder now, for real.
Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Face Cream
So you thought Fresh couldn’t draw us in any further? Think again. We have sworn our faces to the Soy Face Cleanser and their Rose Face Mask, but this one takes the cake. It smells like aromatherapy, and is the perfect mask to spread on before bedtime. We were astounded to find how hydrating and baby soft our skin was the next morning. Plus, it has the whole anti-ageing thing, where we always say, it’s never too early to start.
Shiseido Treatment Softener Enriched
Toners are not just “fancy water”, and are essential in prepping your skin for maximum absorption of other skincare products. We’ve been using this one by Shiseido for a few months, and have grown overly attached to the moisturising properties in it. We pat it on our skin during our morning routine, and use it to thoroughly cleanse our skin with a cotton pad at night. It instantly delivers moisture to the skin, getting rid of any tightness and soothing dry patches.
Chanel Coco Crush Lipstick
Adding to our list of ultra-hydrating lipsticks is the latest Coco Crush Lipstick and we’re obsessed with shade 90 that gives you that coveted “my lips but better” look. Formulated to be moisturising and nourishing, the colour glides on smoothly, melting into the lips without compromising on colour intensity. It’s the new best everyday lipstick.
For Beloved One Advanced Hyaluronic Acid GHK-Cu Moisturising Serum
Our skincare routine often incorporates various serums to target different problems. Since we travel so often, a hydrating serum has done wonders for our skin. You might have heard about For Beloved One’s magical sheet masks, and this moisture-boosting product is equally remarkable. The gel-like texture absorbs easily into the skin, but leaves a sticky-residue, allowing it to double up as a primer for your makeup.
