Is Milan Fashion Week Making Getting Ready Fun Again?
The runway beauty in Milan is sure making us think that way. What about you?
| October 3, 2016Who had more fun with makeup this season – New York or Milan? While the former toyed with mismatched nails, pastel lips and a little thing that makeup people now call “draping” –contouring with blush instead of bronzer – the runway beauty at Fendi scored the only home run needed for Milan. When Bella Hadid came out with those glitter pink lips and anime pigtails, you could almost hear the crowd gasp. (I went “Oooooh” though. The clothes were fabulous as well.)
You can always leave it to Milan to not take it down a notch. Dolce & Gabbana’s convinced us that putting a bouquet on your head can be a beautiful thing, Versace’s seriously making us consider choppy bangs and Moschino’s making a real case for super-thick 1960s Malibu Barbie lashes. The no-makeup makeup look may be becoming more prominent on the runway – it’s an easy canvas, like a white t-shirt, so we get it – but it is nice to see makeup artists having a little fun once in a while. What is your favourite runway beauty look so far this season?
