No outfit or look is complete without your final spritz of perfume before you walk out the door. A scent can be a very personal affair with our favourite scents becoming representations of us when we walk in and out of a room. With the arrival of crisp autumn leaves and that chilly gust of air, we find ourselves slowly transitioning our favourite summer pieces into fall. With that in mind, beauty doesn’t take second place. One of my favourite things about a new season is that feeling of starting fresh. A new set of textures, new colours to try and best of all – new scents!
As the temperature starts to drop, it’s time to start thinking about perfumes that are a little heavier, and more suited to the dipping temperatures. That doesn’t mean you need to let go of your favourite florals, though! Instead, why not try something new to get the second half of your year going? Whether you love the zest of citrus notes or the femininity of florals, or even if you – like me – prefer something a bit heavier and woody, I’ve got all of you covered. What I love about all of these scents is that they embody all the qualities that you would love in a usual perfume, but with an extra dose of warmth that’ll get you ready for pumpkin and cinnamon season and the frost to come.
For Winter Florals: Miss Dior
The new fragrance from Dior is perfect for the woman who loves her florals. A mixture of rose, bergamot and pink pepper, this fragrance is floral with a bit of spice. The perfect balance of femininity and warmth for the winter months!
For A Dose of Freshness: Jo Malone’s English Oak & Redcurrant
Described as “the forest at dawn” this scent is the perfect way to start your day with that spritz of freshness. A mixture of redcurrant, green mandarin, rose and white musk, Jo Malone’s latest scent is sure to get you up and ready in the morning.
For A Fruity Finish: Jo Loves Plum & Leather
Every Jo Loves scent is based on a particular memory, with this particular scent being about horse riding under the Montana sun. A mix of plum liqueur and cinnamon infused with leather gives a fruity scent a warm winter update.
For An Elegant Woody Scent: Diptyque Vetyverio
There is nothing more classic than a beautiful vetiver scent. The heavier woodier notes makes this a rich and deep number. This particular scent is purely vetiver, so expect something strong that is sure to last all day long.
For A Zesty Citrus: Miller Harris Citron Citron
Although one might usually think of lemons and oranges for the summer time, this particular scent from Miller Harris is the perfect way to transition your favourite citrus notes for the colder months. Infused with cardamom and basil, this scent is zesty yet warm.
