The Best Of Beauty: Our June Favourites
Our obsession with face oils and sparkly products that ensure a healthy, all-over "made for the 'gram" glow lives on! Viva la summer!| July 2, 2018
Is it just us or is the year passing by waaay too quickly? June came and gone in a literal flash – if you were on vacation, that time probably went by even faster – but we’ve managed to incorporate some new favourites into our routine. It is a good mixture of skincare and makeup, mostly kept very lightweight and minimal. Things like face oils, lip glosses and even a really compact eyeshadow palette have made the list. These new loves have gone helped us through dry weather and even an allergic reaction. True story. If your skin needs just a little bit more oomph, you’ve stumbled into the right place.
Estelle & Thild Super Bioactive Reparing Oil Complex
First up on our list, we have a new favourite face oil. Yes, our obsession with face oils continues, this time with an organic one that smells like flowers, absorbs like a dream and most importantly, calms sensitive skin. It has minimal ingredients without any bad chemicals and is enriched with antioxidant-rich microalgae extract. We like to use this under makeup, too, especially overseas when the air is drier. Never tried it as a primer, but given how quickly it seeps into the skin, we’re betting that it will work as one.
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen Active Lip-Gloss
The Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Collagen Active Lip-Gloss is now something we can never leave our house without. No, seriously. It’s not sticky like other glosses and keeps the moisture in. But the fun part here is the plumping effect. It also smells like peppermint cookies – for real! – and leaves a cooling (but comfortable) tingle on the lips, all while keeping them soft and supple.
Chanel Les 4 Ombres
If red eyeshadow is still your thing – even though we might be moving into gold – this one from Chanel has made it into our favourites because of how easy, portable and shiny it is. The earthiness of the red makes it easy for daywear, too. It comes with us on travels, doesn’t take up too much space when we’re trying to do some last minute looks before we touch down, and is simple enough for any beginner. Red, brown, pearl and grey, it can’t get any easier than this.
Tarte Rainforest of The Sea Radiance Drops
Tarte totally makes skincare! Instead of using an actual primer as our makeup base, using oil in its place to hold our makeup together is an amazing way to achieve that glow as well as moisturise the skin. We like using this all over the face, including the lips, which gives an all-over glow because of the glitter in it. Jojoba oil, Vitamin E and antioxidant algae extracts are in this formula. Slippery foundation? No chance.
Nars Fort De France Highlighting Powder
Although we featured this on our recent Beauty Wars that pit highlighter against highlighter, we’ve fallen further deeper for this one because of how natural it applies. A light dusting will give the most beautiful glow that we’re very into, and it doesn’t show up too sparkly or glittery like most highlighters do. Plus, the colour’s barely there, which is exactly what we need for that all-over dusting. Pile it all you want.
