Best of Beauty: Our July Favourites
It's the hottest month of the year in most parts of the world, which warrants a change of skincare and makeup. See which ones made it to August.| August 6, 2019
While most of Europe goes on vacation in August, we are too, enjoying as much as we can back home before fashion month hits us again in September. Unfortunately, our beauty routine can’t seem to catch a break, since a new month means changes in weather. That means, changing our skincare routine. Again.
For summer, we saw countless new product releases, ranging from high-shine glosses for the ultimate sparkly lip guaranteed to warrant sunglasses, to clay masks that combat all the extra sebum produced from the heat. Without further ado, scroll down to see last month’s saviours.
Sephora Purifying Mud Mask
Clay masks have always been the OG skin saviour, and it works on everyone. This one from Sephora’s new line of skincare incorporates zinc in its formula which helps to purify the skin and lighten blemishes. Unlike Innisfree’s cult-classic Volcanic Clay mask, this one isn’t as drying, spreads like butter and rinses off easily. It’s also perfect for spot treatment, and not to mention, super affordable!
Dr. Roebuck’s Kibosh Weightless Foaming Cleanser
Switching cleansers takes a lot of courage as it can make or break the condition of your skin. For us, a good cleanser must remove dirt and excess sebum gently and effectively, without leaving the skin dry and squeaky. This one ticks all the right boxes, and we love how the formula is free from all the usual irritants, making it super compatible for sensitive skin.
Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer
Finding the right bronzer can be tough. There is just so much to think about. For us, we like powders, because they don’t mess with our foundation as easily as stick bronzers, and can be swept all over for that ultimate tanned glow. This one by Fenty Beauty does just that, and is buildable whilst leaving the skin matte and smooth. Another win for Fenty Beauty!
Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss Moisturising Glossimer
We always say that Chanel’s lip glosses are the best glosses and we stand by it with this new one from the French house. It is hydrating with a high shine, and doesn’t leave your lips feeling sticky and uncomfortable. Plus, it has tiny, micro bits of glitter that layers over dark colours like a dream. Need we say more? No, no, we do not.
Margiela REPLICA Beach Walk Eau de Toilette
It goes without saying that summer warrants a summer fragrance. When the weather’s this hot – is it just us or is this one hotter than the last? – we tend to go for lighter, refreshing scents. Margiela’s Replica is sweet, has hints of musk, but leaves a coconut aroma that’s reminiscent of days by the beach. Sometimes, a spritz of perfume is all you need to take you on a mental vacation.
