Best of Beauty: Our November Favourites
This month's hot list is full of the unexpected with a certain siren red fragrance that would make the perfect Christmas gift and vanity centrepiece.
| December 4, 2018With Christmas right around the corner, it’s almost time to start scrambling for gifts to stuff under the Christmas tree. It’s also winter in many places, so parched skin and stale coats that need more than a few spritz of Febreeze is coming back to haunt us.
November saw more dry flights and cold winds. But skincare and makeup saviours includes an ultra-hydrating toner, an extremely moisturising lipstick and the only oil cleanser we needed for all the glitter we’ve been applying and the ones to come. Without further ado, we present to you, our November favourites.
Clé de Peau Beauté Lipstick Cashmere
For our recent visit to Tokyo, we managed to survive the painful and usually inevitable lip-crack with just the Clé de Peau Beauté Lipstick Cashmere and lip balm at night. It locks and provides moisture throughout the day, something most bullet lipsticks don’t usually possess. The colour payoff is on point and dries to a velvet texture. While it will transfer and touch-ups are necessary, but better moisturised than dry.
Erborian BB Creme Nude SPF 20
We can’t get enough of the Erborian BB Creme Nude SPF 20, mostly because it doesn’t clog pores, stays on all day, has buildable medium coverage and keeps the skin hydrated all day long. It’s our no-fuss, quick and easy go-to that goes with us everywhere we go. The formula dries to a matte finish, but will turn to more dewy after four to six hours of wear. By then, just gently dab off excess shine with a tissue and you’ll be good to go again. The only downside to this is the number of shades. It’s way too pale even for the average person.
Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid
When we move from humid to dry weather, products need to change to. Heavier creams, deep-hydration masks and facial oils. But the one that remained constant is the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid that is actually a moisturising toner. When used in conjunction with the serum and cream from the same range, it melts any flakey skin with oils, hyaluronic acid, plant extracts and holds the skin’s barrier together with ceramides.
FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil
It may be surprising to hear that our current favourite cleansing oil comes from Fancl and not some mainstream beauty brand, but this one really takes the cake. It melts everything from the toughest mascaras to lip stains and does not require any sort of vigorous rubbing. Just one minute will turn all your makeup into a creamy consistency and wash off effortlessly. It’s free of preservatives, fragrances, petroleum and won’t leave your skin with a squeaky clean texture.
Chanel No. 5 Eau de Parfum Limited Edition Le Rouge
The floral and slightly woody scent of the Chanel No.5 Eau de Parfum has not changed, but the red limted edition bottle is more than enough reason to gift it to a loved one this Christmas. This one sits on our vanity like our little Christmas centrepiece, and happens to be a daily favourite. Modern, fresh and sexy.
