Best of Beauty: Our October Favourites
We're giving you everything you ever need to glow from the inside out. Splurging on makeup and skincare essentials? That's self-care!| October 31, 2018
October has come and gone in a hot minute. Perhaps, one thing faster than October? The speed at which our beauty must-have list grew in the last weeks. This month, we’re concentrating a lot more on self-care. From a 30-second mask to our new favourite cushion foundation –we say this A LOT, but we’re serious every time! – we’re introducing you to some of the products you might go gaga over. Some of these were even put to the test during fashion month (essentially war for our skin) and their title still stands.
Giorgio Armani Cushion Foundation
For the love of cushion foundations and more, we simply cannot get enough. They’re practical, travel-friendly, and they also usually come with SPF (shoutout to sun protection). If you’re looking for a foundation that also does good for your skin, then you will love this cushion by Giorgio Armani. Made with a high-tech essence-in-foundation formulation that takes care of your skin throughout the day, it provides a buildable medium coverage that dries matte but keeps the skin hydrated. Sounds too good to be true? This isn’t a drill, it’s the real deal.
Chanel Beauty Rouge Allure Liquid Powder
Ah, how could we go through our monthly favourites without sneaking in a little something from darling Chanel? Next on our list is the brand new Rouge Allure Liquid Powder by Chanel. Yes. You did just read the words “liquid” and “powder” in the same product. The matte cream to powder texture comes with a handy sponge tip applicator and the matte packaging comes as a squeeze tube, which makes it just that much easier. Because of its lightweight (but with no doubt, still highly pigmented) formula, all the shades can be built upon for deeper pigmentation. It’s non-drying and glides over the lips with a blurring effect. Hello, all other matte lipsticks? Get on this level already.
Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vitamin C Glow Powder 30-Second Foaming Facial
It’s no easy feat when it comes to taking care of our skin. To all the ladies with a skincare routine that they stick to religiously, we applaud you. But, when the going gets tough and you find yourself too busy for a 10-step routine, we suggest splurging a little on Fresh’s Vitamin Nectar Vitamin C Glow Powder, a 30-second foaming facial that’s available in packets of 12 in a box. Formulated with a heavy dosage of vitamin C to instantly smooth and brighten the skin, this is slowly becoming a cult favourite. There’s no excuse as to why you shouldn’t get your hands on this miracle product. A brightening facial in 30 seconds? Count us in.
Dr. Barbara Sturm Deep Hydrating Mask
We’re rolling in the skincare! Next up we have a hydrating face mask that leaves your skin supple with intense moisture. This face mask by Dr Barbara Strum has Kaolin, also known as China Clay, in its formula. It will help to significantly boost your skin’s texture and silky-soft smoothness, while still calming any sudden outbreaks. This was our saving grace during fashion month where dry skin and lack of sleep couldn’t even put up a fight with this.
Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume
Yes, you read it correctly. This Eau De Parfum is called Not A Perfume. Right off the bat, the perfume has a really woody and earthy scent to it. It reminds us of summer mornings and a warm breeze at sunset. It was created as the perfect stepping stone for anyone who wants to venture into wearing perfumes more often. You’ll be pleased to know that this minimalist, fresh, and clean fragrance is also hypoallergenic. Once you get your first spritz out of this, there’s no turning back. A scent this fresh and unique is definitely going to stick with you for a very, very long time.
