The Most Inspiring Runway Beauty Looks From Fall 2017
The makeup on the runways was both bold and subdued. Bored of your everyday makeup? Get inspired by our favourites of the season right here.
| March 27, 2017It was all or nothing on the runways for beauty this season. Fall/Winter 2017 taught us that it is perfectly fine to go bold with dramatic smokey eyes, brightly coloured eyeliner, splashes of gold or even two-tone pop art eyes (à la Oscar de la Renta). If you have personality, let the world know it. But if drama isn’t your cup of tea, the no-makeup makeup look – perfected at 3.1 Philip Lim and Dior – continues to reign supreme. If you fall somewhere in between both, there’s always the bold lip to fall back on, whether nude-brown or wine red. Clean at the top, party at the bottom.
We’re also seeing echoes from season’s past, though the draping trend and the glitter lips that took Spring/Summer 2017 by storm seem to have taken a back seat. The burgundy eye which was seen everywhere last year – and something of a go-to look here at Team KULALA – continues to thrive, with Valentino and La Perla leading the way. While we’re on the topic of eyes, metals seem to be a favourite, right up there with the classic black smokey.
The craziest yet most accessible look of the season? We’re going to have to put our vote in for Balmain. Dark defined eyes, a touch of metallic on the lids and a lip accessory, easily replaced with strokes of gold eyeshadow for the adventurous who want to recreate it at home. We’ve got a winner.
