Pow-Wow Party Makeup Looks That Are ACTUALLY Easy To Doby Team Yoyokulala
Whether you killed it or crushed it in 2016, it always seems necessary to close a year with a big, big bang. You’ve got the dress, you’ve got the shoes and you’ve got the party all lined up. Now, all you need is the look. Not that there’s anything wrong with your everyday beauty look. But, like we said, big, big bang.
What’s the makeup equivalent of a big bang? It is easy, really. Just swap your regular black eyeliner for a metallic or glitter one, and your go-to earthy eye shadows for jewel tone ones that have basically been vomited on by a unicorn. Lips are tricky. We always love a good red lip – found the perfect holiday red, too – but there has to be something even more banging than a red lip. It also needs to be practical so it’ll last you though the whole night. While we did show you how to create these truly spectacular gold glitter lips, let’s be honest – they won’t survive past that opening glass of champagne.
There is a slight compromise, though, and we’re taking cues from DKNY and Each x Other. A dusting of copper and red glitter on a dark lip at the former and a smattering of gold dust before a potent layer of gloss in the latter. At least if the glitter goes, the dark lip and the gloss still remains. Not too difficult to fix in the ladies’ room, too. Of course, if you foresee eating and drinking quite a bit, just go nude – don’t forget your trusty lip balm, though – and let the eyes lead the way.
So, what’s it going to be for you this final party weekend? If you still don’t have a clue, we invite you to peruse some of the best runway beauty looks we’ve found that scream “New Year’s Eve”. Most of them boil down to strategically placed glitter eyeliner and metallic eyeshadow. No artful blending necessary.
