What Everyone's Talking About

Ethical Beauty Brands That Have Proven Themselves Worthy

Beauty products that are both good for you and the environment isn't a myth anymore, it's a reality. You will not regret getting on board with these three.

It used to be that consumers were not well informed about where their products came from. With their elaborate packaging, we were promised quality products that were good for our skin. What faded away into the background amid the shininess, however, is the massive eco-footprint these leave behind.

But things are changing. As the world moves toward a more organic one, sensibilities toward what is natural and ethical pick up as well. Where ethical beauty labels were few, now they seem to be popping up like daisies.

From Kora Organics to Earth Tu Face and more, so many of these indie labels promote sustainable alternative stop chemical-laden counterparts. Their mission? To eliminate harsh synthetics that do nothing but harm our skin and the environment when it gets washed into the drains, and to find better ways to package a product in an industry where packaging plays – or used to play – a big part. The final icing on the cake? Naturally-sourced, organic botanical ingredients.

Sure – it can be argued that these products still don’t match up to the quality of some of your holy grail favourites and while that may be true, it cannot be denied that these brands are igniting something that is only set to be bigger in the years to come. To start you off, here are the three ethical beauty brands that we personally love and we think are more than worth their salt.

Created by the ever beautiful Miranda Kerr, Kora Organics has its roots in her university days. Given her expertise in nutrition and health psychology, a line of 100 percent vegan, cruelty-free products thus emerged. Not to mention that Kora Organics is fairly affordable. If Miranda’s skin is a testament to her products, we’re more than willing to jump aboard, pronto.

Tata Harper knows skincare is delicate, demanding and complex. Which is why their products pack a punch in terms of high performing active ingredients, all formulated in their open labs. Right down to their packaging, they are all about being recyclable – without compromising on their clean aesthetic of course. What else can we say, Tata Harper’s products have wowed many and it will wow you too.

Quality is essential when it comes to Kjaer Weis. In fact, founder Kirsten Kjar Weis personally quality controls each batch to ensure consistency. How cool is that? Did we also mention that all her products were designed to be refillable? Why isn’t everyone doing that, we ask ourselves. With their sleek and clean packaging, it is more than easy for us to turn to them time and time again. Cutting down on wastage and luxuriously well made? Count me in.
