KULALA Beauty Clubber Mishu only has good things to say about Burberry Beauty's new spring edit. If you *still* don't have your perfect, no-makeup makeup blush and lippie, she's here to help.| May 29, 2017
Welcome to KULALA Beauty Club, where YOU our dear readers help us suss out the best in the beautysphere. This week, we brought back Mishu (@papermartini) to review our top selects from Burberry Beauty’s Spring 2017 collection. Read her last review here.
Everything in my second KULALA Beauty Club pack screamed luxe, from the iconic check embossed gunmetal compact to the velvety pouches and textured card boxes. I love how chic it all looks, like pretty accessories that I’d love to take out for touch-ups anytime, anywhere.
First up, we have the Light Glow Blush in Dark Earthly. For months, I’ve heard many beauty YouTubers rave about the blush. I was super psyched to finally try and test it out myself. Alas, the dark earthy shade was a tad too dark for a natural blush look, which is something I prefer these days. However, it was perfect for contouring. I actually use it as a bronzer as my skin is of a light-medium tone. Either way, it blends beautifully on the skin with or without foundation. The silky-smooth texture is beautiful, a finely milled powder with minimal powder, yet packs great colour pay off.
My pack also had the Silk and Bloom Illuminating Blush Palette, and this may be my favourite product of the lot. There’s nothing not to love about it. The warm rosy plum frost finish looks great with just about anything and gives a stunning radiance to my face! The soft as silk powder goes on and builds easily, too. Delightfully, there are flecks of glitter in the pan, but instead of turning your face into a disco ball, it imparts just a soft glow that looks natural and is miraculously long-lasting. I love the faint floral smell from it as well. After just one try, this palette has become a staple in my everyday makeup routine.
I strongly believe that every girl ought to own an everyday, everywhere nude lipstick for that subtle, natural look. However, finding that perfect shade befitting of any occasion is no easy task. A shade too pale, you end up looking like you need a trip to the doctor. Thankfully, Burberry Beauty’s Full Kisses Lipstick in Nude Beige 500 does none of that. With one swipe, your lips adopt that sheer glow. The creamy, satin texture helps your lips feel moisturised, something I particularly like as I have dry lips and I find that this glides on perfectly. What’s more, it is free from paraben, sulphates, phthalate and artificial fragrances, so that’s a definite hooray for health conscious beauty junkies! The only shortfall about the lipstick is its packaging design. You have to be extremely precise when you put the cap back on because the lip bullet is not retractable, so don’t be surprised if you end up with a mess the next time you uncap it.
Finally, we have the nail polishes in Stone Green 433 and Tea Rose 403. Ever since trying Amazing Gelish, it’s been a while since I used regular polish. However, Burberry Beauty’s formula delivers as it claims. It is long-lasting and has a high-gloss finish with quick drying power. There’s a nice lightweight consistency that glides on easily with no skips or streaks, giving the perfect glossy finish with just one swipe. The wide brush applicator definitely makes application easier – a boon for someone with a large nail bed. To extend the wear and shine, I suggest finishing it with a gel topcoat. The colour turnout will be amazing and long-lasting. I applied it on my toe nails and the colour stayed on for weeks!
