Burberry’s Double-Ended Liner Is The Unexpected Perfect Smokey Eye Tool

Their blushes are pretty darn good looking, too. If you're looking for quick and easy products, our reader Gladys reckons that these might just make the cut.

Welcome to KULALA Beauty Club, where YOU our dear readers help us suss out the best in the beautysphere. This week, we have Gladys Neo (@theegladys) and her review of Burberry’s edit of best sellers. Gladys is your average university student cum beauty enthusiasts who is constantly buried in assignments, beauty wish lists and online shopping carts. On most days, I like to go for an easy and light makeup look that can get me out of the house in under 10 minutes. The essentials include the following: on fleek brows, mascara, eyeliner and blush.

I was really excited to be able to try new products from Burberry that had potential to become a part of my daily routine. Starting with the blush palette, the packaging feels quite exquisite and had a really pleasant pattern on it. I took a liking to the blush as it had little specks of gold shimmer that shone subtly in the light, along with pigmentation that was buildable and not too harsh. A highlight and a blush combined into one is really handy when you’re short of time. Plus, it came with a compact slanted brush that is really convenient when I’m on the go.

The Full Brows came as a brush liner on one end and a powder wax shadow on the other, something I’ve never tried before, as I’m more accustomed to brow pencils and powders. These gave more of a subtle tint that was not as intense as I hoped it would’ve been. As someone with sparse brows, it basically did very little to give me definition and shape, although I can imagine how well this would work for someone with a bit more eyebrow hair.

In my KULALA Beauty Pack, there were also two Cat Eye Liners that had similar packaging to the brow pens – one brown, one black. The brush tip applicator is something I love very much, as it’s good for creating thin lines to achieve the perfect cat eye flick. As for the other end, it’s amazing for a smokey eye that I might try for a nighttime look. Although the colours are not the most intense, it suits my daily makeup because it’s more natural. I took it out for a test run to see how it would hold up in Singapore’s humidity. Even though it did fade off, it didn’t smudge or give me panda eyes. Would I still wear it? That is a yes.
