The Double-Ended Strobing Stick That Lets You Highlight On The Go

It's bronzer, highlighter and blending brush in one. If you don't like cream sticks, our reader Naomi (@naomitham_) thinks this may convert you.

Welcome to KULALA Beauty Club, where YOU our dear readers help us suss out the best in the beautysphere. To get your skin all ready for summer, we brought back Naomi (@naomitham_) to review the By Terry Glow Expert Duo Stick. Read her last review here.

I’ve never really been a big fan of cream highlighters because the ones that come in a powder form seem so much easier to blend and control. The By Terry Glow Expert Duo Stick, however, gave me a new perspective on the one product I was opposed to using.

There are two ends to this little cylindrical stick, one a brush, and the other a highlight and bronzer split into two equal parts, which is really handy and compact when it comes to travelling or keeping in your purse. The highlighter comes in a light champagne shimmer, while the bronzer a sheer pinkish warm tone.

When I first tried out the product, I applied it over foundation and powder, a mistake I found out the hard way. If you’re using anything cream-based, remember to blend it with your foundation or risk a clumpy highlight. The formula melts to the touch, making it easy to blend, helping to avoid any harsh lines. I personally like to mix in a little brown to the highlight, as it helped to make the colours pop a bit better on my skin tone.

The look that I’m left with is a very sheer shimmer on the high points of my cheeks, and a very natural warm glow. Even though it looks very pigmented, the brush blends the two colours into a very subtle sheen. I’ve got a preference for a strong highlight, though, and was really hoping for a real shine. What I did was to dab a little more of the highlight using my fingers to help pack on and intensify the shimmery pigments. It does stay fairly well, and is still visible after setting my foundation. Overall, I enjoyed the product, but realised that I would be able to find better products at the same price point.
