From Desk To Date, This Is How To Show Up To Dinner Looking Fly

From rehydration to amping up that eyeshadow game, we've got you covered with instant beauty fixes that you can do with one eye closed.

Valentine’s Day is coming up, and we anticipate a lot of going out, either on a romantic date with your beau or a night out with your best pals. Regardless, we don’t want to show up to dinner with half our foundation sliding off our face and a dreaded mascara smudge. We’re also aware that the fact that it has fallen on a weekday really complicates how we’re going to look our best for our date. If going bare-faced to the office is not an option, we’ve got all the right moves to help you achieve the perfect day-to-night look.

As we all know, air conditioning (especially so when you’ve got a desk job) can be really drying. Drinking more water can really rehydrate your body in ways that you didn’t think it would. It basically changed my life. Facial mists is another way to add moisture to your skin without messing up your makeup, and we even pit a few of them against each other to see which one worked best. Don’t neglect your hands, too, and use these hand creams so they feel soft and silky to the touch.

Onto makeup, we can’t emphasise how important it is to start with a good primer in the morning that’ll help your no-makeup makeup look stay looking fresh even after nightfall. Amp it up with a bold eye and shimmer shadows that look good on literally everyone. Not only does it bring attention to your eyes, it’ll also brighten the area and give the illusion of looking more awake than you actually are. If you’re not about that bold eye, though, perhaps a lip stain that will stay on even after ramen or a gloss can give you the luscious lips that we all really want.

Lastly, don’t forget to put on your glow. Highlighters make all the difference, and this one will gurantee that you’ll be shining through the night like a goddess. After a couple spritzes of setting spray, you’re pretty much good to go. If you’re still worried about the burden of a huge makeup bag, check out these palettes that are basically palm-sized vanities. Since it’s the day of love, don’t be afraid to go all out and give yourself some lovin’ too.
