Dior Bronze Is What You Need For A Summer Glow Like No Other
The primer-sunscreen-bronzer gave our reader Naomi the best summer tan of her life. (Though, not without some drawbacks.)| July 18, 2017

Evidently, summer has arrived. But in Singapore, I guess it’s safe to say that the summer heat never really goes away. With the sun scorching everything in sight, I’m glad I could test out the Dior Bronze range of sun protectants – the Protective Creme Sublime Glow for the face and Milky Mist Sublime Glow for the body.
The Dior Bronze Protective Creme Sublime Glow is essentially a face primer with two important jobs: it shields the skin from vicious sun rays with SPF30 broad spectrum UVA and UVB filters and also wraps the skin in a satin glow. The texture is really creamy, but it’s super easy to blend into the skin with fingers – tip: pat it in not smear! – and it leaves behind a tacky sensation after it is set. The sticky feeling quickly goes away after foundation application and it helps the foundation adhere to the skin better. I feel that this allowed my makeup to last longer throughout the day. As the primer also has light reflecting particles to give the skin a natural glow, I found that it turned my matte foundation to a satin finish that made my skin look really healthy and dewy.
However, for those with oily skin, I do recommend setting your base with a translucent powder if you want to avoid an overly greasy face. And for those who are really sensitive to scents in their products, you might want to do a smell test first as I found the frangipani and sunscreen scent for this product to be a little too overbearing. It fades away eventually, but it took a few hours before I noticed the smell to be completely gone.
Speaking of which, the Dior Bronze Milky Mist Sublime Glow also carries the same scent as they are from the same line of products. The body mist similarly also has SPF30 broad spectrum UVA and UVB filters with light reflecting particles, but the texture is quite different compared to the primer. The mist is very lightweight and sprays finely onto your body, and after rubbing it into the skin, I immediately noticed the gorgeous sheen it gives. My summer tan never looked better with the glow that this provided. But fair warning, if you go in with too much product, it can get greasy and sticky pretty fast.
Overall, I really enjoyed how the Dior Bronze range delivered what was promised – sun protection and a beautiful summer glow. If you could get past the strong scent of both products, I would say that these are two great suncare items to add into your beach bag.
