Welcome to KULALA Beauty Club, where YOU our dear readers help us suss out the best in the beautysphere. This week, we brought back Mishu (@papermartini) to review the Introductory Kit by cult beauty brand First Aid Beauty or simply, FAB. Read her last review here.
This introductory kit combines a trio of FAB favourites. In my opinion, it’s the perfect starter kit if you’d like to experiment the natural glow look. There are different products to let you try out what works for you. Also, it is compact size which definitely can fit just right into your travel bag. Definitely a plus point for the frequent traveller!
A good facial wash definitely should possess the follow qualities: it should be gentle on the skin and instead of stripping your skin from its natural protective oils and emollients, your skin has to feel soft yet supple after every wash. Like how every painter begins on a blank canvas, I strongly believe it’s paramount to always start off cleansing your face, prepping the skin before applying anything. The First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser did a great job of removing my makeup or any dirt on my face thoroughly, leaving my skin fresh and moist. A dollop of it translates into luxurious foam for the entire face that feels light and airy on the skin. This cleanser is gentle enough for daily use, suitable for anyone with sensitive skin. However, I wouldn’t recommend people with oily skin to use this product as it might be too mild for them.
Next, the First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Mango Butter Multi Stick in Champagne. I adore makeup in the form of a multi stick as they are so very versatile and effortless in terms of application. Absolutely great to just throw in a weekend bag or purse and then off you go! It gives a soft, sheer dash of colour and glow on your face, perfect for days you want to look natural yet made-up. You simply just have to tap on the apples of your cheeks and your brow bone to accentuate your best features. However, it isn’t exactly long lasting. To prolong the longevity of it on your face, I’d suggest using it as a base for before powder highlighters. Tried and tested, it lasted fairly longer.
Being a coconut lover, I was sold by the scent of the Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturiser. It smelled divine. I was, however, initially apprehensive about using coconut product on my skin. Will the smell be too overwhelming? Surprisingly once applied, the coconut scent was prominent yet not over-bearing. Also, the moisturizer seamlessly blends in nicely onto the skin, blurring fine lines and pores. After applying it, the skin assumes a fine glow. There’s a bit of iridescence in it, but it does not feel greasy at all. I feel like my skin can actually still breathe despite lathered with a layer of product. It is light and airy. I absolutely love products with dual effects, so this has easily earned a spot in my daily makeup routine. Coupled with how reasonably priced it is, it’s definitely a worthy purchase.
