We Found A Concealer That Treats And Hides Zits At The Same Time
For starters, it has got all the good stuff that are known to be pimple cures like tea tree oil, salicylic acid, sulfur and glycolic acid. But can it work magic?| March 14, 2018
There are those days where a dilemma at hand involves making the decision between putting concealer on a huge pimple, or leaving it clear of makeup so that it will heal faster. The struggle is definitely real. Times like these you wish for makeup that double as skincare and vice versa. Pimple treatments that work under makeup exist, of course, as do tinted moisturisers and even pimple creams. But what of actual, sturdy makeup-slash-treatments that are right smack in the middle and not more of one of the other?
Our latest find is the Bye Bye Breakout Full Coverage Treatment Concealer from IT Cosmetics. At first glance, I get that it contains tea tree oil, salicylic acid, sulfur and glycol acid – basically stuff that will help your angry pimple cool down. Normally I curse at the wind when a pimple sprouts out on my face, but for the sake of research, fortunately, I had one angry week-old zit on my nose to test this concealer on.
As far as concealing goes, Bye Bye Breakout does the job, hiding redness and uneven skin tones with a good amount of coverage. The formula feels very light and is super easy to blend. It does not cake as well. Plus, it dries pretty quickly and really does not budge after it does. To be super sure, I left it on said pimple and let it do its thing for a couple of hours.
With a possibility at something wonderful, expectations were high. After all, if this can actually soothe my pimple as I go about my day without scaring people away, every other concealer should be afraid. Unfortunately, my pimple remained painful and pissed off. The redness was still there. Ultimately, given the zit-fighting ingredients it contains, this is still a better option compared to concealers that don’t have them. It is, at the end of the day, a pretty good high-coverage concealer after all.
