Jimmy Choo’s L’Eau Will Have You Dreaming of Spring In No Time
Delicate, soft and deliciously floral. We're obsessed with fall, but it's never too early to start collecting spring fragrances. In collaboration with Jimmy Choo.| November 29, 2017
People. We want one thing and when yet we get it, we crave for what we had before. While we have zero complaints about the arrival of fall, the frosty night air and short daylight hours has us dreaming about spring, along with its delicate lightness and the scent of blooms wafting in the breeze. After taking a whiff of Jimmy Choo’s L’Eau, the latest to join their signature collection of fragrances, you’ll be dreaming of spring even more.
At first glance – and first whiff – L’Eau is easily a feminine scent. Floral and fruity, a little more of the former, the fragrance opens with fresh hibiscus flower, then melts away to reveal notes of nectarine and peony. It is soothing and so pleasing to the nose, sweet without overpowering the senses. This isn’t your sickly, caramel kind of sweet. Think of it as a more delicate, softer version of the original Jimmy Choo fragrance, their version of spring in a faceted pink bottle.
Then, it gets deeper. We always love a fragrance that serves a tinge of contradictions, because no one is ever entirely one thing. Duality is what keeps things interesting. Among the floral notes, L’Eau reveals a touch of bergamot with musk and cedar wood as the base notes. After all, the fragrance was inspired by the feeling of quiet breaths and soft caresses on the skin. It has femininity and sweetness, but there’s sensuality behind it as well. Cool mornings in white shirts and nothing else, white sheets curled up around you.
Or, she could be a woman who is in easy, flouncy silhouettes one minute, but switches to something a little fiercer and bolder at night. Can you say “party season”? Or, she could be someone who prefers her shirts and jeans on a regular day, but secretly hides her feminine side, revealed only those closest to her.
If you’re not a fan of woody fragrances, there’s no need to raise an eyebrow about this one. The woody undertones are very light, perfect for those we want to dip their toes into woody fragrances whilst still staying true to their love for floral scents.
We’re not ready to say good-bye to fall just yet, but it’s never too early to start collecting fragrances for spring. Plus, with its duality, Jimmy Choo’s L’Eau could very well be the unexpected holiday fragrance to wear to your next dinner party.
