The Best Of Beauty: Our July Favourites
This month's beauty selection has been created around a busy schedule, focusing on zero-hassle products that make life so much easier.| July 31, 2018
We’ve reached the end of July (already?) and that means that it’s time for another round up of our favourite products from the past month. Yay! As you might have noticed, it’s heating up everywhere with temperatures skyrocketing past 40 degrees celsius. (For real, we checked.) It gets even more terrifying with typhoons if you’re visiting other countries, too. For us, convenience and ease of use stood out amidst this chaos. Anything that is quick, easy and works well have packed itself into our daily routines. Without further ado, may we present to you, our July favourites.
Maison Margiela REPLICA Lazy Sunday Morning Eau De Toilette
Since scents have memory-triggering properties, we’ve also added our obsession – Lazy Sunday Morning by Maison Margiela – which just transports us back to a place of comforting, clean sheets. It’s a piece of home and something to helps relieve stress when things get a bit out of control. It’s sweet but not overbearing, consisting of pear and Lily of the Valley. We also picked up rose and musk, but it also reminds us a bit of lychee. No wonder it’s such an enduring favourite.
Kenzoki Belle De Jour Sacred Lotus Eye Contour
Kenzo? Skincare? We would’ve never thought they would go into skincare, but this eye contour is particularly soothing and moisturising, two of which are great for areas around the eye. It doesn’t need to be refrigerated to feel cool to touch, but we like to stick it in the fridge for extra measure.
Pony Effect Defense Longwear Cushion SPF
Pony, oh Pony, you’ve captivated us with your magical transformation tutorials. Now that the long awaited cushion foundation is finally in our hands, we can’t let it go of it. It has all the best qualities of a cushion foundation, with light to medium buildable coverage. The satin finish leaves your skin glowy throughout the day, but is best-suited for dry to normal skin types.
Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette
This palette might not look like much – or big enough for the face – but it sure packs a punch. It’s an all-in-one wonder. The white highlighter’s best mixed with the gold colour, giving it more sheen and dimension, which is something many highlighters lack with their overpowering glitter. The contour and blush also gives a beautifully natural finish, and blends nicely without any patchiness.
Chanel Beauty Le Rouge Crayon De Couleur
We don’t normally favour crayons because of how difficult it is to manoeuvre around the lips, but this one’s an exception. There’s no sharpening involved, so there’s no mess and hassle. It’s quick, easy and only requires a light dab for a natural finish.
