The Cult Favourite Night Oil That Still Lives Up To Its Reputation
Just when you thought that you've heard enough of this blue-bottled wonder, our reader Mishu finds more ways to work it into her beauty routine. Calling it a keeper is an understatement.| July 19, 2018
Welcome to KULALA Beauty Club, where YOU our dear readers help us suss out the best in the beautysphere. This week, we brought back Mishu (@papermartini) to review the cult favourite Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Read her last review here.
By now, one should be well aware of the magical benefit of adding facial oil to your beauty regimen. Beauty should be skin deep, literally, and I would highly recommend you to start with Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. The concentrate is formulated to boost your skin’s recovery and restore the skin’s suppleness and radiance.
Tried and tested, a month into this blue magical bottle has done remarkably for my skin. It feels so rejuvenated right now! I love how gentle it is on my skin yet so nourishing. The lightweight texture allows it to be absorbed quickly and isn’t too greasy or heavy — perfect for my preferences.
I brought it along on my recent trip to New Zealand and used it in place of my greasy “lotion” on areas that were more susceptible to dryness and it certainly helped to keep the flaky winter skin at bay. It proved a great buddy on long-haul flights as well.
Before I go to bed, I gently massage a few drops of this wonderful concentrate onto my face. Not only does it hydrate and refine my skin the morning after with its restorative concoction – it includes lavender essential oil, evening primrose oil and squalane – it also soothes my skin with that slight hint of lavender helping me get a good night’s sleep.
I’ve also tried dabbing a few drops of the oil across my lips before applying a coat of matte lipstick and realised it worked really well. It also moisturises my lips, making it supple such that I no longer have to worry about having the ugly, parched and chapped effect that matte lipsticks tend to leave behind.
My daily routine is definitely getting longer with this new addition, but as the adage goes, “There are no ugly women, only lazy ones”. This midnight muse is definitely a keeper.
