These Make Contouring & Highlighting So Easy
Still can't contour for nuts? KULALA Beauty Clubber Michelle tells us exactly why these cult-favourites from NARS will be your saviours.| February 7, 2017
Welcome to KULALA Beauty Club, where YOU our dear readers help us suss out the best in the beautysphere. This week, we have Michelle (@mxcy) and her review of the NARS Light Reflecting Set Powder and Paloma Contour Blush. Michelle is a fashion student who isn’t afraid to take risks, try new things and owns too many leather pieces for sunny Singapore.
I’ve got to admit that I’ve never tried any NARS powders before. I was drawn to the packaging of both products almost immediately. I mean look at it, the sleek matte black finish with the brand imprinted in white – totally my aesthetic! I’ve heard many great reviews about the NARS blush in Orgasm, so I expected amazing results from these two products as well.
The products were absolutely easy to use and fool proof, and while both did not come with brushes, the in-built mirrors made up for the lack and can easily be used for touch-ups on the go.
The Paloma Contour Blush has a nice satin buttery smooth finish to it, and it is easy to work with and blend with a brush. The colour looks gorgeous against my fair skin and works very well as a contouring shade for my cheekbones and nose. It stayed on for the whole day that I was out! The highlighting half of the palette made my skin glow subtly, though I would have preferred for it to have more glow and pigment, because who doesn’t want to shine bright like a diamond?
The Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder was a surprise though. Set your face with this light and seemingly weightless powder after your foundation routine and it is bound to give you a radiant, soft-focused glow on your face despite its matte finish. The powder stayed on for five to eight hours. As it is translucent, all worries about white patches clinging on to dry spots on my skin were put at bay. It is a product that will work very well on most, regardless of skin texture or tone!
