The Brush Set That Your Overstuffed Luggage Will Be Grateful For

KULALA Beauty Clubber Mellynda proves that this gloriously green brush set from Marc Jacobs does a lot more than just look pretty.

Welcome to KULALA Beauty Club, where YOU our dear readers help us suss out the best in the beautysphere. This week, we have Mellynda (@mellyndatanaya) and her review of Marc Jacobs Beauty’s Your Place or Mine Petite Brush Set.

Every woman loves makeup! They definitely need to know what is best for them to facilitate their makeup routine, right? Marc Jacobs and the five-piece Your Place or Mine Petite Brush Set could be the answer to that.

The collection includes all your must-haves – a face brush, a foundation brush, an eyeshadow brush, an eyeshadow crease brush and an eyeliner brush, all wrapped in an elegant emerald green case with a beautiful black tassel. I found the case to be quite spacey for just five brushes, so I’ve added my own brushes in since, something I’m really happy about because I can now carry them all at once during my travels.

No clogged pores, no caking, the effortless concealment of flaws and imperfections – that’s the goal when it comes to applying foundation to the face. And yes, the foundation brush can actually do that. I was impressed with it because I’ve been disappointed by the foundation brushes that I’ve tried so far. They just created lines all over my face. Marc Jacobs Beauty’s version does the opposite!

The face brush left my face looking matte and silky smooth after my foundation was set with powder. I also used the same brush for my contouring and it definitely brought strong definition to my cheekbones.

The eyeshadow brush is the most multifunctional of the lot. I used it to blend eyeshadows on my lids, contour my nose and highlight my cupid’s bow. The eyeshadow crease brush, on the other hand, comes with a pointy tip that is perfect for applying small details on my eyes. Together, they make blending so much easier and quicker.

Finally, we have the eyeliner brush which features an ultra-fine, perfectly angled tip that allows you to create thick or thin lines with effortless precision. As I don’t typically wear eyeliner, I used it to fill in my eyebrows instead. It is impressive how it can create the shape and lines that I want.
