An Unexpected Way To Use Your Favourite Blush

Lipstick as blush, that we've heard, but blush as a lip colour? A reader shows us the plethora of ways to use this knockout number from NARS.

Welcome to KULALA Beauty Club, where YOU our dear readers help us suss out the best in the beautysphere. This week, we have Airin (@imairinn) and her review of NARS Dual Intensity Blush. Airin is a freelance hair and makeup artist.

If you love blushes like I do, you’ll definitely love the NARS Dual Intensity Blush in Panic. It’s beautiful in colour, seriously shimmery and vibrant.

First off, you can use this product individually, one colour at a time, since the palette consists of two colours that blend and complement really well when used together. As the formula works both when it is dry and wet, you can even use the vibrant colour on your lips. It doesn’t even look chalky at all due to the fine reflective shimmers embedded in it. I also want to mention that the orange on this palette can be used on the eyes and it is a truly beautiful colour when paired with soft browns on your lids.

It’s definitely very rare to find a blush palette that can be used on your lips, cheek and eyes, and still give you this natural glow that’s not too overly reflective. The texture of the blushes is not exactly very pigmented, which makes it easy to build up to the intensity you want when you use it via dry application. Due to the intensity of the shade, it might be too harsh on your cheeks if you’re using a damp brush. Therefore, I strongly advise that you use a damp brush only when you’re applying the product to your lips.

So after trying it out for a few days, I realised the product was very long-lasting. The colours stayed for at least five hours before it became slightly washed out. The only downside of this product is that it might not be the best palette for oily skin due to the glow that can be achieved from it. Overall, because of the uniqueness of it being a multipurpose product, I give this a big thumbs up! If you have the urge to splurge and are looking for blush shades in pink and coral, this is the one that’s worth buying!
