Just How Good Are These Legendary NARS Multiple Sticks?
NARS already has some kickass powder bronzers, but what of the all-famous multiple sticks? KULALA Beauty Clubber Naomi takes four shades out for a spin.| April 30, 2017
Welcome to KULALA Beauty Club, where YOU our dear readers help us suss out the best in the beautysphere. This week, we have Naomi Tham (@naomitham_) and her review of the NARS Sculpting Multiple Duo Sticks. Naomi is an arts student who is unabashed about her ever growing collection of nude lip products and neutral eyeshadow palettes.
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of NARS’ iconic sleek, matte packaging. The NARS Sculpting Multiple Duo Sticks – dual ended sticks containing a bronzer and a highlighter in a creamy formula – are no exception.
I was definitely super excited to play with the oh-so-famous Laguna bronzer and its highlight counterpart Hot Sand in their stick form, hoping that it would enhance my cheekbones in a natural way instead of the cakeness we often get with powders.
Laguna is a warm, light brown colour, whereas Hot Sand is a light, shimmery peachy shade. Both complement fair to medium skin tones. For those with slightly darker and warmer skin tones, the duo stick in Oahu and Playa Flamenco would definitely be more suitable as Oahu is a darker, warmer shade and the highlight a warm, golden sheen.
Upon first swatch, I noticed how creamy and easily they glided onto my skin. The bronzers are really pigmented and easy to blend into the skin, and both are great shades for bronzing up the complexion for a sun-kissed look.
However, if you are one who personally prefers to have a blinding highlight that can be seen from outer space, the highlighters unfortunately do not give off that intense of a glow. They are both very light, natural shades that blend to a minimal shimmer on the high points of your cheeks, giving a glow from within instead.
Overall, I do recommend the NARS Sculpting Multiple Duo Sticks for frequent travellers as these sticks are really versatile and lightweight, and you can just toss them into your travel makeup bag. It is perfect for beach vacations, too, as it is product that brings forth your facial features in a natural way, as though you’re wearing no makeup at all. The bronzers last for a significant amount of time as I was out for six hours and it stayed put throughout. However, as someone who likes her highlighters to be beaming, I would recommend an additional layer of highlighting powder on top of this highlighter to intensify it. The sticks get my thumbs up for those no-makeup makeup days!
