If You Love Hyaluronic Acid, This Fluffy Moisturiser Is Right Up Your Alley
That much hyaluronic acid, you say? Now we totally get why KULALA Beauty Clubber Isabel ditched her longtime favourite water-based moisturiser for this one.| April 2, 2018
Welcome to KULALA Beauty Club, where YOU our dear readers help us suss out the best in the beautysphere. This week, we have Isabel (@ysabrell) and her review of the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream.
A couple of years ago, in my early twenties, I started using a water-based moisturiser that fulfilled the basic need of maintaining moisture in the skin. I’ve never ventured into other types because changing it up is a risk, and not one that I was willing to take. Trying out the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream was a step out of my comfort zone, but like all risks, you’ll never know until you try.
Upon application, the texture resembles a gel, but quickly changes into a smooth and a bit silicone-y, almost like a primer. It dries quickly, is lightweight, refreshing and fragrance-free. The fact that I thought my moisturiser was doing enough for my skin baffles me a bit. I woke up to supple skin and glowing skin after just one night of using the cloud cream. When I’m trying out new products, I always look to see if my skin has any bad reactions to it, like inflammation or breakouts. This one didn’t, and is an instant hydration booster, especially with 30 percent of hyaluronic acid.
In my opinion, this product would not be enough on its own for harsh winter conditions. Something water-based like this might provide hydration, but will not lock in moisture as good as a cream that contains oils. All in all, this is a really nice and refreshing cream to have, especially in Singapore’s heat, and I will definitely continue to use it.
