The Best Of Beauty: Our August Favourites
Is a lip tint that's really a buttery liquid lip in disguise enough to whet your inner beauty geek's appetite? Allow us to go on then, hun.
| August 30, 2018Many new products landed on our desk in the month of August, but we found ourselves gravitating towards simple, easy to use, everyday basics. We’re talking about those you can’t leave the house without applying. Things like a floral, feel-good toner and a lightweight hydrating serum that can go under your makeup make our life so much better. A lip tint that’s really a velvet liquid lip in disguise, the most mind-blowing blusher and a sweet, floral eau de toilette are also included.
3CE Velvet Lip Tint
This lip tint may not look impressive on the outside, but glides on the lips like a soft buttery spread. It’s what we have always wanted in a liquid lipstick, except this is a tint, which is double the goodness. It’s moisturising, doesn’t sit between the lines of your lips and has a buildable colour. We especially love the versatility of the colours and how beautiful the reds are, a signature of 3CE.
Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence Moisturising Toner
This is not the type of toner you would use to wipe off any remaining impurities left on your skin, but one that delivers moisture and boosts radiance with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, witch hazel, vitamin C and hydrating jasmine extracts. We use this liberally all over the skin, and apply on two layers, twice a day for maximum impact. The packaging is also made of glass, so we can recycle it after!
Shiseido Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush
Most blushers come in either cream or powder form, but Shiseido’s Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush from their newly reimagined makeup line has the best of both worlds. The mousse-like texture is soft, fluffy and bouncy, all of which turns into a lightweight finish that dries like powder on the skin. It’s easy to blend and melts right in, making it our new favourite natural blush. It leaves a bit of stain too, so it’ll surely last you through the day.
Skin Inc Skin-Revival Infusion Serum
Used together with the Tata Harper toner above, our skin has not seen a dry day and has been clear as a starry night sky in an open plain. Filled with all that hyaluronic acid goodness, just three drops of this concentrated formula will be enough to keep moisture in your skin. It’s an everyday serum that will bring life to and rejuvenate your skin.
Kenzo Flower By Kenzo Elixir Eau de Parfum
Ahh and now for the last one. We’ve been meaning to purchase this for the longest time, because of how easily it can be worn on a day-to-day basis. It may be too sweet for some because of the fruity orange and mandarin top notes, but it’s well-balanced out with musk and vanilla.
