What’s Inside My Makeup Bag
All my high-rotation products, revealed.| June 24, 2016
Women and makeup have a strange relationship. We think twice about spending $100 on a t-shirt, but that same amount of dough on an eyeshadow palette? Uh, yes. You don’t even need to ask. In fact, we’ll take three colours, please, and throw in a couple of brushes while you’re at it.
Recently in the last months, I found myself turning into something of a beauty junkie. I think it’s something that happens when you discover the fun that comes with making up your face. It becomes more of an activity than a thing that you have to do to hide the fact that you spent the night catching up on TV dramas instead of sleep, and you literally just woke up an hour ago. And, naturally, with a heightened interest comes an expanded makeup chest and more trips to Sephora than I want to admit. How else are you going to find stuff that works for you without some trial and error?
New products are being released every day, and while I believe that there are many palettes and powders out there calling my name, waiting to be discovered, I’ve more or less formed a personal arsenal of really great products that work (of course, it may change in a couple of months). If you’re still in the process of building up your own, here’s hoping that the following will guide your path as you navigate Sephora’s endless rows of shelves. The products I use are:
Suqqu’s Face Protector 50, Face Designing Concealer and Pore Covering Powder
Laneige’s Brow Shaping Kit
