5 Date Night Outfit Ideas – Dresses, Not Included
Getting dolled up for date night can be a whole lotta fun. If you're still putting together your outfit for Valentine's Day, we're setting you up with a whole new world of outfit ideas you can play around with!| February 7, 2020
Whether you’ve been with your partner for a month or a decade, date nights are pretty much always special. If you’re in the early stages of getting to know each other, it is an opportunity to dress to impress. And if you guys have basically seen each other through hell and high water or perhaps, when you wake up barefaced in the mornings, making an effort on date night is a great way to remind your significant other that you clean up good.
Whichever end of the spectrum you belong to, putting on a good look for date night can be a whole lot of fun. And a whole lot more than the stereotypical dress. The floral, the bodycon, the slip – you bet your Instagram feed would be chock full of girls with their V-day #OOTDs in dresses you may or may not be able to tell apart. Dresses may be an obvious choice but we’re here to show you that there’s so much room for exploration in the outfit department.
Before you put together your date night look, consider these alternatives. Rest assured, you won’t be looking just like a snack, you’d be a whole damn meal.
#1: GET SUITED
The men don’t always have to be the ones wearing the pants or the suite. You could take charge and still be every bit the woman you want to be. If you’re in the mood for a little peakaboo, layer a sultry lace bralette underneath or if you’re feeling a little frisky, no inner wear is required.
#2: PYJAMAS BUT MAKE IT FASHION
If you’re that girl who values comfort over all else then pyjama tops are your saving grace. Also, having your food belly show itself to the world (and your dinner date) will be the last thing on your mind. You could either pair these with denim or coordinate with a matching bottom – whatever you’re in the mood for.
#3: YOU CAN’T GO WRONG WITH JUMPSUITS
A cheatsheet to looking put together without really making much effort at all, a jumpsuit will save the day when you to get ready in a jiffy or if every other outfit option is not making the mark.
#4: LEGS FOR DAYS
You know what they say, if you got it, flaunt it. These hemlines leave plenty of room for you to show off your legs – a subtle tease without being too outwardly sexy. You could opt for a maxi skirt with a slit or go all the way short with a mini, the choice is yours.
#4: BUSTIER TOPS
Corsets and bustiers have been having their moment in the spotlight as of late. While some claim it to be an anti-testament to femininity, we’d like to think of it as embracing the curves of a woman’s body rather than having it in a bind. A little self-love never hurt nobody!
