The Accessory Trends To Try Pronto, Fresh From The Runway
From upgraded extra, extra large hoops and dainty-meets-edgy pearl necklaces to plastic everything, these are the ones that we're camping out for.| March 15, 2018
An outfit is never complete without throwing on a couple of accessories. Whether it’s a hat, a piece of jewellery or the ever-so-essential sunglasses, accessorising can make the biggest difference when it’s a lazy wardrobe day. Now that spring’s here, we’re turning our spotlight away from the recent fashion month and back to the Spring/Summer ’18 runways, scanning for all the bits and bobs, trinkets and bobbles that you need to keep an eye out for when you’re at the store.
The most prominent trend we’re looking at would be plastic – that we’re already eyeing. Then, there’s the extra large hoops that might scare some in fear of something hooking onto it by accident, but we’re fearless when it comes to earrings, so bring it on, we say! Fenty Puma’s got an yin yang situation going on, Y/Project has got the most mesmerising gold spiral circle, Sonia Rykiel goes with logomania and Balenciaga keeps it classy with a hoop cut from a blue stone.
Chunky necklaces from McQueen come in the form of chains and charms with pearls in-between beads, making it hard to take your eyes off them. It is a youthful take on pearls, too. Christian Siriano had a balance of chunkiness and daintiness with gold flowers attached to a cuff. Others like Roksanda and Zimmermann had earrings that looked like they moved with the flow of the wind. Artful and tasteful, click through above to see our favourites.
