Behind The Scenes: How Exhibit’s Pre-Fall 2017 Campaign Was Made
Through mosquito bites, greasy handrails, treacherously narrow steps and sticky morning heat. Not as glamorous as you thought, eh?| May 17, 2017
It was a fine-ish sort of Saturday as I dragged myself out of bed (I’m the sort who loves work, but this is a Saturday after all) and away to the location given to me by the Exhibit crew. I initially expected a warehouse, but when I arrived, it was an actual warehouse, and then some more. Pipes, tyres, wooden planks, even more pipes. So, it was this kind of shoot. I get it, I get it.
Let me just say that working as the Exhibit crew’s unofficial official backstage/behind-the-scenes photographer is really bad for my wallet. As I snapped Tim Suen snapping away at the Pre-Fall 2017 looks, half my mind was trying to figure out ways to not get in his way, the other half was on which pieces I should get first when the collection’s available. This is my occupational hazard.
After a battle with mosquitoes, greasy handrails, treacherously narrow metal steps and gruelling morning heat, Tim got all the shots he needed. We were all soaked, but at least we were done. I, however, was still not done deciding what I needed from the collection more than the others. (Still struggling, FYI!)
