I’ll Let You Finish, But Backless Shoes Are Still The Best Hot-Weather Shoes
Cool girl-approved? Check. Plenty of ventilation? Check. Actually easy to wear AND walk in? Check. The jury has spoken!| May 23, 2018
In the name of fashion, we all sacrifice comfort sometimes, be it that killer pair of stilettos or high-sky heels for that extra bit of glam. Thinking about the pain just makes us shudder. The more comfortable option that most would opt for instead would be plain ol’ flats. While they’re comfortable, they do get pretty boring and even stuffy sometimes, which brings us to the topic of: backless loafers.
Backless shoes – i.e. the bigger umbrella for mules and slippers – are like business in the front and breezy in the back, perfect for a hot day where evaporation is your best friend. Pair it up with anything from jeans, skirts to dresses. Want to go preppy? Throw on a pair of fun socks and rock that. On a romantic rendezvous with your lover? Wear them as they are to flaunt an effortless, bohemian look. With basically every street style who’s who you stalk on Instagram constantly parading in them, you bet they’re behind you on these style pairings.
Many designers have also been jumping on the bandwagon, with variations of these kicks that are ever expanding each day. We’ve talked about the amazing wearability of backless loafers before and that the mule is the ultimate cool girl shoe, there seems to be no sign of this trend dying down anytime soon. Ding ding ding! That’s a cue for more shoe investments of this category. Still not convinced how they could ever replace your heels? It gets better – backless loafers come in heels too.
