The Best Tried-and-Tested White Sneakers You Should Invest In

Because they are meant for more than just lazy days. Classics aren’t just crowned classics for nothing – we’ll show you why.
|

White sneakers are as crucial as the LBD, comfortably making its way into the permanent list of wardrobe essentials. Found at every price point, a pair can take you to places you’d never even think it could. Even if you’re clad in something sleek like a suit, or contrasted against a dress, a white sneaker is a wardrobe staple that one must have.

Despite the thousands of choices out there, we can never drift away from the few classics. It began in the nineties, with Charles Goodyear championing the low-top tennis shoe that was meant to provide quick easy options for athletic shoes.

Then, came the cult-amassing Chuck Taylor with his iconic converse shoes, which eventually paved the way for the athleisure white sneakers we are all so acquainted with nowadays. In fact, to quote Stan Smith, which Adidas had honoured through their Stan Smith collection – which subsequently blew up in the fashion circuit when Phoebe Philo, formerly of Celine, made it her de facto footwear – white sneakers are worn for just about everything maybe except tennis anymore. Funny turn of events, eh?

Prominent examples of these ubiquitous sneakers are now seen in the form of Gucci’s Ace, Adidas’ Stan Smiths and Superstars, Axel Arigato and Saint Laurent. Take it from the It girls of Instagram, who can’t seem to get enough of these old school classics. These girls take it from the beach to the gym, and even to the office. This white sneaker, has proven itself worthy of its timelessness and is definitely a comfortable piece worth investing in. Shop some of our favourite sneakers below.
