Brand to Know: Tove Studio

Here's where the languid, flouncy summer dresses of your dreams are made.

Summer has officially reinstated itself. The threat of coronavirus may still be looming over our heads but most parts of the world have kick-started their transition into a new, mask-wearing, sanitiser-carrying, crowd-controlled normal. With summer back on, you know the drill, you need a wardrobe to match. As temperatures rise and humidity settles in, the summer wears of our dreams are ones that allow us to prance around uninhibited across the fields, the sand all while keeping us in the comfort zone of the loungewear we’ve grown accustomed to in the past couple of months.

It might sound like a tough order but summer dresses easily make the cut. You can’t go wrong with languid, one-pieces that are as effortless as summer. Every girl needs that one dress she could take anywhere from a backyard barbeque to a destination wedding. Meet Tove Studios – a London-based contemporary womenswear label where “every garment possesses the power to blend seamless across occasions and contexts.”

The brainchild of Topshop alumni Camille Perry and Holly Wright, its name of Danish origins signifies strength and beauty. Those are the exact words that would come to mind when you browse Tove’s lineup of languid slips, newer releases of organic cotton dresses and silk midi dresses cut in the most flattering shapes. These are pieces that move with the wind – great for one of those wind in your hair, dress cause mid-air photo moments – and recall the effortlessness of summer.

In the summer, we’re all about looking put together with as little effort and time required as humanly possible. Stepping into one of Tove’s floaty frocks might take us 10 seconds tops. Tove’s lineup of summer dresses easily ticks all our boxes. Retailing from £257 (approximately SGD$403), the price tags are fairly reasonable for the unmatched quality of fabric and cut you’re parting with your money for.

Tove might be a fairly new label on the block but in the short span of time have already been picked up by Net-a-Porter. We can only imagine the places Tove is set to go in the coming years! We’re telling you, don’t sleep on them, ladies.
