Mood-Lifting Sweaters That Take the Dreary Out of Winter Dressing
From brightly striped to fully patterned, you can consider these sweaters the clothing equivalent of happy pills.| November 20, 2020
When we’re talking winter dressing, the possibilities are endless in the wardrobe department. You just have that many more outfit permutations to explore when the blistering heat is not standing in the way of you and your #ootd. Yet, it all goes out the window when you actually get dressed for the cold. Looking cute takes a backseat, all the way to the far end. Staying warm supersedes all else.
This means throwing on a big ‘ol coat to keep nice and toasty and whatever else goes underneath, stays underneath. On most days, you reach for the same nondescript heattech turtleneck that you probably have multiple of or that chunky knit sweater you’ve had since high school. Winter outfits can get quite nearly as dreary as the skies during this time of the year. We’ll admit, we tend to slack on aesthetics when it gets cold outside.
But we really have no excuses. Especially not when there are plenty of cosy sweater options that are none the snooze fest. From striped brightly-hued ones to full-on attention-demanding patterned alternatives to patchwork knits and tasselled sweaters, there’s plenty to pick from. They’re such mood lifters too. When the coat comes off, the unexpected pop of sprightly hue will surely brighten the room. Nevermind if you hardly see the light in Winter, these sweaters will make up for the lack of sunshine.
