The Bulgari x Nicholas Kirkwood Collab Has Landed

It's versatile like you wouldn't believe. We were in Milan to see it in the flesh. In collaboration with Bulgari.
|

The season is rife with designer collaborations, but the one that grabs our attention the most? Bulgari and Nicholas Kirkwood. On one hand, you have a Roman high jeweller that is over a century old. On the other, a British shoemaker that is a little over a decade old. There are similarities, of course. Both have a penchant for architectural shapes, geometry and elegance – and that was all it took to fuel the collaboration.

Kirkwood makes shoes for the woman who know what she wants in a shoe: no frills, elegant, feminine, versatile. While the collection does not feature any shoes – maybe next time, Bulgari? – it is chockfull of accessories that you can take anywhere. Anywhere! Think clean geometric lines and sleek leather, cut into shapes and sizes that are just right for a variety of occasions. Structured chain bags that you can take from work to play in black, white, pink, blue and gold. Clutch purses with room for your phone, lipstick, powder, keys, cards and then some. There are even backpacks for the girl on the go. Yeap, Bulgari makes backpacks now.

As always, Bulgari’s iconic Serpenti is the centrepiece of collaboration. Kirkwood’s signature pearl takes a hiatus. Instead, rows and rows of studs arranged in a zig-zag pattern, a slithering salute to the Serpenti. What you get is a capsule collection of truly day-to-night pieces – yes, even the backpack – that are timeless, luxurious and just so dang easy on the eyes. Don’t believe us? See it for yourself when the collection hits stores this month.
