Bulgari Channels Saturday Night Fever For Spring
Case in point: the house's iconic Serpenti Forever adorned with mirror pieces that morph from serpent to lightning bolt and back again under the light. In collaboration with BVLGARI.| November 6, 2018
Glam, glitz and everything to do with partying at nightfall will and always have Bulgari written all over it. And, even though the sun was still up at the Bulgari Hotel Milano, the Roman house has managed to capture the essence of a soirée in one setting for their Spring 2019 collection.
There was no shortage of the house’s iconic Serpenti head like always, and at first glance, you might be too quick to judge a book by its cover. If you slither a little closer, you will notice the itty-bitty details. It’s clear that metallic influences have snuck right into the collection, appearing as an understated mini-chain outline of the Serpenti Forever shape. Then, there’s the mesmerising woven-chain texture, one that mimics the coil of a snake.
And what better bag to bring to an evening night out than a micro bucket? When placed in Bulgari’s masterful hands, it is chic, understated and most importantly, roomy. The new retro shape adapts the Serpenti Forever designs, too, and will fit more than just your phone and lipstick. We know that, because we tried. We’d choose this over an impractical clutch tucked under the arms any day. Or rather, any night.
But behind the metallic curtains, bright displays and neon lights lies the Serpenti Forever adorned with a very David Bowie-esque silver lightning shape. This won our hearts over with the multiple mirror pieces that formed both the head of the Serpenti and the lightning bolt, making it catch the light from various different angles. It is goodbye 2018 and hello Saturday Night Fever. Spring 2019 for Bulgari’s not going to be a quiet one.
