When Different Sides Come Together

Why be just one thing when you can be two or more? We play with the idea with a little help from Charles & Keith's upcoming collection.
|

We’re big champions of masculine codes in womenswear here at Team KULALA, but that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate the more feminine side of things. We’re all a bit of both, aren’t we? Scratch that, we’re all a bit of everything. It is more fun that way.

Charles & Keith’s upcoming collection is pretty much the same. Take the boxed clutch above, for example. (FYI, it is part of the online exclusive collection, so you can’t get it in stores.) The embroidered flowers say girlish, but the ring says edgy. The clean lines say serious, but the fully tasseled strap says quirky. It can be a statement piece, but it can also be an everyday piece. You can go down the feminine route, or you can go masculine.

We like a challenge, so we went for the latter when we took it out into the streets of Milan. A boxy oversized army green coat, but contrasted with yet another layer of surprise in the form of patent buckled sling-backs that scream date night. What do you think?
