Consider These Party PJs if You’re Staying in This New Year’s Eve
Rendered with a touch of feathers, fancy-schmancy embroidery, and cut from silk and crushed velvet, these pyjamas are made to be the life of a party.
| December 18, 2020The dress code is officially dead and real clothes are a social construct we’ve abandoned in 2020. In the past year, we’ve spent a good chunk of our waking hours in loungewear. We’ve even dressed up our pyjama tops for the office ala Jenna Lyons.
When Lyons took her PJs to the Met Gala in 2015, the style maven proved the possibilities of sleepwear beyond the bedroom. Five years on, we’re revisiting Lyons’ proposition of pyjamas as an option for evening wear. If we weren’t convinced before, we are now. With the festive season ahead looking to be one of intimate dinners at home, slumber parties, and FaceTime conversations, the allure of staying in our sleepwear is that much more appealing.
Like Lyon’s iconic bedazzled PJs, we’ve scoured the web for not just any drab pyjamas but ones that come with snazzy festive touches. While we’re prioritising comfort, we’re not entirely abandoning the fancy schmancy. It’s the festive season after all, and we could all use a little somethin’ somethin’ to get us into the mood to celebrate. Feathers, embroidery, crushed velvet – which of the lot will it be for you?
