Crash Course: How To Wear Checks The Cool Girl Way
Anything covered in checks is the best wardrobe investment to make this season. Time to channel your inner Cher Horowitz.
| April 7, 2017If you’ve been paying attention to the street style coverage from the last two seasons or so, you’d know that a checked anything is one of the best wardrobe investments of the season. We’ve got everyone from Miuccia Prada to Balenciaga’s Demna Gvasalia to thank for it, as well as all the grandpas out there who are making such a splendid case for oversized vintage blazers every time they decide to wear one.
The wonderful thing checks is that it really isn’t difficult to work with at all, whether in gingham or Prince of Wales. Take the ladies below, for example. You could pick one colour from the check and match the rest of your look to it, or you could pair it with a decorated print. Jeans are always a good idea, as are stripes. (Yoyo wore her Balenciaga blazer with a striped shirt and jeans.) And, if you feel so bold, go with checks on checks. Doesn’t even have to be of the same variety. Consider this course crashed. Bam.
