What Everyone's Talking About

All The Shoe Porn You Need Today, Courtesy of Jimmy Choo

Fresh and piping hot from Milan. Hey glitter shoes, stop flirting with me and just get on my feet – NOW.

Spring is in the air! Well, sort of. While fall is slowly but surely creeping up on us – the weather in Milan has been spectacularly good, so we’re not complaining, yet – several designers here are reminding us that spring really is a state of mind. There is Bulgari’s tropical-infused jewellery and accessory collection, and yesterday, Jimmy Choo presented their version of an “inverted” garden. Paper hummingbirds, flowers and leaves were flittering and fluttering above floral-embellished sandals and stilettos. Leaves may be crowding the ground outside La Prosteria, but it sure felt like spring in Jimmy Choo’s makeshift greenhouse.

The focus on transition pieces is clear. While the floral embellishments created from cut-outs and feathers pointed to daytime, the metallic tones and pumps in satin and glitter gave that day-to-night touch. One particular platform – a black open-toe with cross-straps and metallic blue floral details – was a marriage of both. Jimmy Choo knows that their girl loves shoes, but if she can take the same pair from desk to date without extra hassle, why the hell not?
