KULALA ICONS: What Would Bianca Jagger Do? #WWBJD
She'd dress top-to-toe in red sequins and kill it, that's what. We don't want to use the phrase "inspiration for days" but this gallery is seriously inspiration FOR DAYS.| January 3, 2017
Those who think that a white suit couldn’t possibly match up to the glamour and pomp of a wedding dress need only look at Bianca Jagger. To her union with Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones, the bride wore a big white hat, a silky white skirt suit, sensible shoes and glorious, tumbling hair. So simple, but so damn good. If you don’t have that image of her walking arm in arm with Mick Jagger on their wedding day pinned on your Pinterest wedding board, well, PIN IT ALREADY.
So much more than her adopted last name, Jagger, like Betty Catroux and Lauren Hutton, paved the way for the sexy suit. Matchy-matchy blazer and bottom, deep v-neck, little to nothing underneath. That sort of thing. Androgyny can be chic, that we know, but Jagger does it in a way that combines femininity, power and sensuality. Her style is uncomplicated, but it is anything but basic.
Suits weren’t all she wore, of course. There’s that one shot of her in a red sequinned dress and matching beret that’s basically Lunar New Year outfit goals, another of her in an off-shoulder maxi atop a horse at Studio 54, and all the times she paired her tasteful boobage-baring with a turban. That ruffled look she wore whilst chilling with the late David Bowie – such a good look on him, too, by the way – actually reminds us a little bit of the new Gucci.
If your brain is still in the process of returning to its regularly scheduled programming after the long holiday weekend and you’re bone-dry on outfit inspiration, ask yourself this very simple question: what would Bianca do?
