Portrait of A Lady
At Miu Miu, a lady has more than one side. (Plus, see moments from our exclusive cocktail party with Miu Miu last month.)
| February 10, 2017What makes a lady? If we’re talking about the Miu Miu lady, the definition is not a simple one. Right from the start, Miuccia Prada made sure that the Miu Miu lady had (and continues to have) more than one side to her. So, perhaps the best words to use are “quirky” and “adventurous”, the result of so many different contrasting elements coming together.
For Miu Miu’s Cruise 2017 collection, Mrs. Prada threw a whole range of textures, prints and colours together. There are planet motifs, brocade bucket hats, psychedelic colours and feathered slippers, mixed in with checks and florals. You can’t pin the collection down to one genre and that’s just the Miu Miu way.
But that also means that there’s plenty of room for the Miu Miu lady to be whoever she wants to be. She can be in a sweater, shirt and trousers one day – printed, of course – but in a pink cowboy jacket and a leather skirt embellished with hearts the next.
To celebrate the launch of the collection in Singapore and the local debut of the customisable Madras denim bag, Miu Miu and I held an intimate cocktail party at Paragon – and many of you guys were there! To all who joined us for the evening, thank you. (See if you can spot yourself in the gallery above!)
