See My Photography Work For Net-a-Porter’s “New Perspectives” Showcase
In which I shoot Net-a-Porter's edit of stand-out pieces from a stellar crop of young and upcoming labels and get a little sentimental.| May 3, 2017
When the going gets tough, the tough get going. The past few days have been crazy and with all the cruise shows coming up this month, the mayhem is only just starting. Still, I’m so grateful and I feel so blessed to be able to turn what I love into a career and have so many people supporting me along the way. Excuse my sudden surge of sentimentality!
The moment I touched down in Singapore from the Maldives last week, I was whisked away to Net-a-Porter’s “New Perspectives, New Collections” showcase at Cuscaden Road. Luggages and four hours of sleep in tow. My mission? To shoot a series of still images depicting Net-a-Porter’s edit of pieces by young and upcoming labels. If you popped by the space over the weekend and spotted those frames on the walls, those were by yours truly.
I was largely inspired by the textures and silhouettes of the unique pieces, from the hammered J.W Anderson earring to the gathered sleeves on a striped Tibi blouse. After experimenting with lighting and shadows, I decided to turn all the pictures black and white so that the details could do all the talking. I’m so pleased with the result and I hope you like it as much as I do. The showcase has ended, but you can still view my images in the gallery above and shop the featured pieces while you’re at it. Let me know what you think?
