Roger Vivier Is In The Mood For Love

The Parisian shoemaker celebrates Valentine's Day with a collection that will take you from the desk to that candlelight dinner sans sore feet. Here's why.
|

Roger Vivier knows how to do classy and romantic. It excels at it. After all, the Parisian shoemaker has been crafting heels for classy yet powerful women since the 1930s. Everyone from Cate Blanchett, Grace Kelly and Jackie Kennedy to the actual Queen has slipped into a pair of Viviers.

But staying true to the house heritage doesn’t mean we can’t expect more than a few surprises here and there. While the iconic stiletto heel and pilgrim buckle still remain, Roger Vivier’s repertoire has also moved a little closer to the ground. As in, they have sneakers and flats, people!

Plus, Roger Vivier can totally do cute when it wants to. Case in point: the Love Tattoo collection.

Created especially for Valentine’s Day, the six-piece collection – two pairs of shoes, a clutch, a wallet and a bag charm – bears sketches of a red winged heart and “LOVE” on a banner, as though the wearer had drawn it on herself. It’s straightforward and simple, yet simultaneously striking and quirky. Still, that signature Vivier elegance remains in the clean lines and pristine cuts.

So, if you haven’t thought of what to ask of your significant other come the big day, now you have an idea beyond the conventional. Above, we took the Love Tattoo collection out for a spin at some of favourite local spots (yes, our office included).
