Come & See How I Like To Style The New Season Roger Vivier!
There's even a "walk-in wardrobe" with my personal pieces at the Ngee Ann City boutique and everything. In collaboration with Roger Vivier.| October 13, 2017
It’s not every day that Roger Vivier builds you a walk-in wardrobe – but last night just happened to be one of those days. Intrigued? As a fresh, new way of looking at the season’s new arrivals, Roger Vivier kickstarted the “Vivier’s Closet” series and enlisted my help to pick out pieces from my personal wardrobe to go with my top picks from their Fall/Winter 2017 collection. It doesn’t end there.
Instead of just telling you what goes with the new shoes and accessories and snapping pictures of them, personal pieces from my own wardrobe is hanging on the racks of the Roger Vivier boutique at Ngee Ann City. Some I actually wore during the recent fashion month! You get to see how my wardrobe goes with the new Podium Booties, Flower Strass Buckle Booties and Sneaky Viv’ Strass – but in real life.
The pieces I chose represent how I like to dress: minimal pieces that come with a twist, can be styled up and down easily, and aren’t fixed to a particular season. Roger Vivier’s shoes are like that, too. They’re cut in classy, versatile shapes, yet there’s always that pop of detail to keep things interesting. This makes styling them so easy, because they toggle between statement and staple.
For instance, think a little black blazer dress with statement sleeves and a contrast collar. I’d pair it both with the Flower Strass Buckle Pumps and the new Podium Square Pumps. One’s a classic shape with a statement buckle, another is a dress-down option with gold accents. For something classic with a twist like a trench coat with bell sleeves, I’d pair it with the Trompette Ankle Boot and the stand-out Viv’ Rounded Edge Bag in red. Both go just as well with a simple sweater top and jeans. Very French.
Or, consider the look I’m wearing above: a black duster blazer with a t-shirt and jeans. I jazzed things up with the Flower Strass Buckle Pumps, and to still keep things easy, the mini Viv’ Cabas, but in red for an extra outfit kick. It’s all about shoes and accessories that can change personalities according to how you style them. It’s not just about sticking to a certain colour palette, either. Those pastel purple pants you see hanging in my “walk-in” closet will go so well with the Viv’ Cabas Stripes, don’t you think?
How would you style Roger Vivier’s new arrivals? If you’d like to see more of how I would style them in the actual flesh, head on down to Roger Vivier’s Ngee Ann City boutique to take a peek at my closet from now until 27 October, 2017. Take pictures and tag me if you’re there!
