Roger Vivier Makes A Case For The Girly Shoe

Hear that? It is your pair of overworked and overworn black boots asking for a day off.
|

Expectedly, given all the speed walking and occasional running we did at Paris Fashion Week – I blame snooze buttons and bad traffic – our go-to feet covers in the last week were boots. Heeled, but boots all the same. It explains why we found our visit to Roger Vivier’s picturesque showroom on Boulevard Saint-Germain to be such a refresher. Dainty shoes with crystals and floral appliques exist, you guys! Give those black boots a rest! Your feet want their long overdue girly day out!

The Roger Vivier girl of the season is a self-declared country girl. She’s in love with springtime, but she’s also got some time for candle-lit summer balls in the open fields. This means denim platforms embroidered at the heel, lace on city-girl slides and stilettos of canvas, multi-metallics and satin decorated with intricate florals. The shoemaker’s pilgrim buckle is blinged for days, providing all the sparkle you need on your next night out. And for those we can’t let go of their boots and booties just yet, sandal-boot hybrids covered in laser floral cutouts are also on the menu. There’s one that even goes way past the knees. Yum.
