A Study In Street Style: Taylor Tomasi Hill
If we were to put together all the best looks from this O.G. of street style, there would be no end to this gallery.| January 4, 2018
They say the best runway is the one on the streets. The runway is where the official action happens, but it is on the streets that real style, worn by real people, is born. In “A Study In Street Style”, we turn the spotlight on some of the most notable street style stars of industry. If ever you’re dry on outfit inspiration, just check back here. We guarantee you’ll leave with at least a handful of styling ideas. That, or your (imaginary) money back.
The street style scene is always evolving, but you always have the O.G.s and on the topic of O.G.s, there is none quite like Taylor Tomasi Hill. Her very chic name is just the tip of the very chic iceberg. For starters, her flaming red hair alone, always perfectly tousled or in a messy chignon, is enough to turn heads. Coupled with her singular style, Tomasi Hill quite literally has photographers sprinting down and across streets just to get that money shot.
Tomasi Hill’s style cannot be pinned down to a type – it’s just her. She takes risks and she mixes like no other, but she also favours the classics and basics that are destined to be worn over and over again. It is the best of both worlds.
In fact, Tomasi Hill could very well teach a master class on layering, because the way she does it is so refreshing and different. A bustier over a sweater under a denim jacket and a pencil skirt to finish. A summer floral cropped top worn over an oversized cardigan. A leather jacket tied to look like a peplum-corset hybrid of sorts over a pleated dress worn backwards. She was one of the few people to start tying a shirt over a shirt way back before it was a thing. What did we tell ya – she’s a maestro.
