How To Style This Thing: Jacquemus Pinstriped Jumpsuit
There are possibly one hundred and one ways to style this sculpted gem. We'll show you three. The rest is entirely up to you.| February 21, 2017
Jumpsuits are highly misunderstood. Seeing that they are basically pants that go up to your chest, one might think that styling options are limited. Especially the printed, more “decorated” ones. But, no! We reject that in the name of Simon Porte Jacquemus! Starting this week, we’re kicking off a new series called “How To Style This Thing”, where we show you how to work seemingly difficult pieces in three simple ways for three different occasions. First up, this pinstriped linen jumpsuit from Jacquemus.
The huge flares and sculpted bodice makes it the perfect, no brainer go-to for a dinner party. Huge flares also mean you get to wear platform shoes without telling anyone. Let them think you’re that tall. Gold-accented accessories contrast the menswear codes that fuel the jumpsuit. Super simple, no layering involved. Yet.
Layering it over a turtleneck or a t-shirt is easy. Let’s take it to the next level with a striped off-the-shoulder shirt for a further play on proportion. An everyday bag, white sneakers and a dad cap make the look street style-ready.

The appeal of Jacquemus is that its silhouettes err on the weird, awkward and unfamiliar. Completely in a good way, of course. Build on the weird with a trench coat of bubble proportions and a bag that’s really an inverted straw hat with two straps attached to it. Pointed boots to poke anyone who disagrees with your look in the shin. Hai-yah!
