These Swimsuits Will Give You Funny Tan Lines, Not That We Care
It’s like getting a badge of honor from mother nature herself – and it makes for an interesting anecdote to tell when tan season is over, too.| May 25, 2018
If you’re aching to go out for a swim but your old raggedy swimsuit is holding you back, perhaps it is time something new and fun, one that screams cocktails, the sand and the sea. Plus, if you’ve worked for a beach bod, what better way to show it off than with a couple of daring swimsuits?
Bikinis and one-piece suits have reigned over the beach for as long as we remember. It turns out, however, that they are slowly occupying the realm of “normal wear” too. With the ever-expanding range of swimwear available, the lines between swimwear and daywear have become increasingly blurred. Runways are incorporating outfits reminiscent of swimwear, which seemed to take on variations like that of life guards or scuba suits.
From the looks of it, incorporating swimwear into your outfits seems like something completely doable. Considering how much you pay for something you only wear for one season, this is a total win. One pieces into body suits, bikinis into wearable bralettes. Multi functionality AND style? Checked.
Passing off swimwear as daywear is by no means hard, but unless you want to be conspicuous, it’s probably better to stick to pieces that doesn’t scream “bikini”. Looking at you, triangle bikini with strings. You make for less odd tan lines, but you’re also no fun.
Some of these swimsuits have criss-crosses, little cut-outs and straps that cut across the chest that will probably give you a weird tan line. But if we look good on the beach with these, covering up for a few days won’t be a problem. Below, check out some of the pieces that we’re willing to make a compromise on.
