The Sneakers That Are Currently on My Heavy Rotation
A lot of trends come and go in fashion but the one thing that has remained a constant in my life for as long as I can remember are sneakers. Currently, these are the ones I am wearing.| January 29, 2020
On any given day, there’s a very, very, high probability you’d catch me in a pair of sneakers. They aren’t always the shoes you’d see me pairing my #ootds with but a glimpse of what goes on behind-the-scenes, on the day-to-day, will reveal my deep love for sneakers. And my ever-growing sneaker collection certainly does not hide what I would consider a relatively mild obsession.
From way before, sneakers – be it low-cuts, high-cuts, gum-soles or platforms – have been a footwear staple for me. If I had to pick one, just one, shoe to wear for the rest of my life, I would point to my trust-worthy pair of Nike Air Force 1. With sneakers, I never have to pick between comfort and style. The former, especially important now that mom duties are a part of my routine. Not having to weigh my footwear options against how long I could possibly last in a pair before my feet beg me to stop is a small win in life!
Beyond the obvious comfort, I have always been drawn to the versatility of sneakers. You can wear them with pretty much anything. A dress, a formal suit, a short and t-shirt combination…well, like I said, pretty much anything goes. With streetwear booming the way that it has in the past seasons, you have all the more reasons to wear sneakers to every occasion. After all, Serena Williams turned up at the Met Gala last year in a pair of neon Nike’s.
Also, there’s no other footwear that says cool kid in the way that sneakers do. It might have taken awhile for the names in luxury to realise the appeal of sneakers but now that they have come around to the idea, a girl is totally spoilt for choice! While I have a good mix of patterned, plain and coloured, white sneakers have a special place in my heart. Crisp and clean, easy really does it with white sneakers. Naturally, those are the ones that I find myself reaching for most often.
Now that I’ve written an entire love letter to sneakers, let’s get into the pairs that are currently on my heavy rotation. Tell me what are your most worn sneakers in the comments below!
